The Nitpixels Podcast Episode 13: A bridge to nowhere

The Nitpixels Podcast returns this week with your hosts Alex Ziebart, Matthew Rossi and Mat McCurley. We’re a bit early this week, as that other podcast we’re involved with had to adjust its recording day. This week our discussion topics include:

  • Following up on The Redner Group’s PR nightmare
  • Following up on Battlefield 3’s DLC nightmare
  • Valve’s potential free-to-play title
  • Our hate for Heroes of Newerth’s Flamboyant Voice Pack
  • Let’s be honest here, there wasn’t a whole lot going on this week

You can listen to the podcast in the embedded player below, download it directly via the link below, or download and subscribe via iTunesNote: The iTunes store can take an extraordinarily long time to display new episodes on the podcast page. If you subscribe, it will download the episode for you, even though it may not immediately display on the page.

Do you have a question you would like to ask the Nitpixels crew? Have comments about the podcast? Email us at mailbag@nitpixels.com and we’ll answer it on the next edition of the Nitpixels Show if it strikes our fancy. You can also tweet any of us your questions — you can find our Twitter handles on the right-hand side of this very page (unless you’re on our mobile site).

      Bah comment system. Anyways…
You gave me the terrible image of Varian Wrynn acting like Duke Nukem. That was bad.

My problem with people buying Duke Nukem Forever to see how bad it is is that $60 is actually a lot of money.

Did I hear something that basically expressed “Big Brother is crowdsourced.” in regards to online oversharing?

RE: Australian Porn. The intent of the law was not to stop child pornography, but to stop pornography that is intended to mimic/simulate child pornography. There is already an age requirement for pornographic acting.

    Thanks for another great show!

I think its funny that Mat and Matt seem to be shaking there own rage cages for no reason at all.

I really enjoyed the theme music. :D

Ya know, it’d work well as an outro too.

Concerning the Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect 1 story thing, looked that up, doesn’t really look good do me. Watched a “full playthrough” video of that Genesis comic on youtube, not impressed. Wanted to get it to get a fully customized Shepard for another ME2 playthrough but after seeing what it actually is I’ll stick with the savegames.

    1. It’s another DLC.  Yay… Don’t hate DLC when it’s done well, e.g. Shadowbroker, love it. But offering this as DLC? Meh.
    2. There are far too few choices, like 6 total. Who did you romance, who did you sacrifice on Vermire, did you save the council, who became councillor, did you kill Wrex, did you kill the Rachni Queen, think that’s it.
Yeah, they are the important choices but I don’t see how this make the generated Shepard more “your” Shepard than just getting a savegame online that features/documents ALL important and not-so-important decisions (e.g. the Asari you met on … Vermire? and could let her go or kill her, and then maybe meet her in ME2 when getting Grunt).
